How we spec it

Survey, then design

Designed around your ground and how you use it.

Before anything is ordered, our own engineers survey the site. They set pixel pitch and brightness for where your furthest spectator actually stands, specify weatherproofing and cable routing built for a touchline, and size the structure to the wind loading at your ground.

We check how the board will look from different spectator positions, in daylight and under floodlights. Your team can talk through score controls, sponsor content and matchday use at the same visit.

We also review cabling, access and any structural or planning requirements, so the scope is clear before work starts.

FAQ

How much does an LED scoreboard cost?
It depends on the size of the board, the ground, and what is already in place in the way of power, structure and access, so we will not guess at a number over the phone. Book the free survey and you get one fixed written quote.
Will it survive outside all year?
A properly specified outdoor board is built for exactly that: IP65-class weatherproofing on the enclosure and cable joints, correctly isolated power, and a structure sized to the site's own wind loading. Those are the first things the free survey checks, before anything is ordered.
Who operates it on matchday?
Control ranges from a straightforward pitchside console to a tablet or PC run from the clubhouse or the box. We spec whichever suits the people actually running it on the day, and settle that at survey. Switching the board on should be something anyone on duty can manage.
What happens if it develops a fault after installation?
You call the team that installed it. Design, installation and support all sit inside Solnx, monitored around the clock by our own operations and service desk, so whoever answers already has your ground and its history in front of them.
Can it show sponsor boards as well as the score?
Yes. Scoreboards and perimeter displays are both part of what we supply, install and support, and for stadium-level projects we scope them as one system. Our in-house studio can produce the on-screen content if you need it.
Do we need planning permission?
Sometimes. It depends on the size of the structure, the site and your local authority. The survey establishes it early, so you are working from an answer rather than a guess.
Can the quote go through our procurement or tender process?
Yes. You get a written, itemised fixed quote you can put in front of a committee, governors, a trust board or a procurement team, and we reply within one working day, which helps if you are working to a bid or budget-round deadline.
